NonStop Knight

NonStop Knight

Games 2016

Synopsis

Non Stop Knight is a free-to-play mobile action RPG built around the eternal journey of a single knight who continuously fights through dungeon floors filled with hordes of enemies.

The headline mechanic is one-thumb play: the knight attacks and progresses automatically, and the player only intervenes for the big decisions — unleashing special moves, evolving weapons and gear, and unlocking performance-boosting items.

The character even keeps fighting and amassing coins while the device is shut down, blending action-RPG combat with idle / clicker pacing. The objective is an infinite climb up an endless dungeon: smash enemies, beat bosses, earn gold, upgrade weapon, armour and cloak, discover new abilities (Whirl, Leap, Clone and others) and climb the dungeon leaderboards.

The game was conceived to introduce the action-RPG genre — historically dominated by time-intensive titles like Diablo and World of Warcraft — to a casual mass-market mobile audience, in the way mobile strategy and match-three previously reached that audience. Kopla Games CEO and co-founder Mika Kuusisto framed it as "a totally stripped-down mobile action RPG that players can instantly understand and enjoy at their own pace."

Notizen aus der Produktion

Pixable Studios delivered the in-game character and creature models and the in-game animations for Non Stop Knight (approximately 500 animations) — but did not develop the game itself. The game was developed by Kopla Games (Tampere, Finland), a studio founded in 2015 by four developers who had previously worked together on Rovio's Angry Birds franchise, and was published by flaregames (Karlsruhe, Germany), a venture-backed mobile publisher then best known for the Royal Revolt series.
