Notizen aus der Produktion

On a small farm, the calf Benny lives with his mother Ella-Mae and his friend Patrick. When the farmer takes Benny away to the slaughterhouse, the farm animals decide to rescue him and slip away in the night. At the slaughterhouse, Benny meets a pika girl named Lucy, while back in the wild the others fight their way through unfamiliar terrain, pursued by the farmer. Benny and Lucy hatch an escape plan. When the rescue party reaches the slaughterhouse, the calves break free amid fire and explosions. The animals escape by a hair, believing for a time that Benny is lost, and set out for the safety of Sunflower Valley. The showdown comes in the mountains: the farmer chases them by helicopter to a rope bridge. When he nearly falls to his death, the animals save him. Moved by their mercy, he grants them their freedom. The animals end up running a happy vegetable farm together — Happy Farm.
